The Ga Nawaabin (Look Ahead) Project Team was assembled:
- to create a website for all youth seeking information regarding the employment programs and services available to them in Thunder Bay.
- to foster awareness of supportive programs and services
- to inform youth on upcoming events
About the Project
The Ga Nawaabin (Look Ahead) Project was created by the Aboriginal Employment Resource Committee (AERC) of Thunder Bay, delivered by and funded by the YES Employment ServicesNational Crime Prevention Strategy, creating a website that provides valuable resource information to youth who are seeking information about programs and services available to them in Thunder Bay.
In recognizing that many youth in Thunder Bay often face numerous challenges upon initiating their search for education, training, and/or employment opportunities, the goal of this project is to, therefore, alleviate some of the challenge by effectively communicating the most relevant information to local youth as well as to newcomers of Thunder Bay through the AERC website.
Not only does the website provide a bird's eye view of the physical location of the agencies, it also provides each agency's mandate, services and generic information such as addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, etc. directly from the site.
