Our Mission
To assist in the development of a skilled Aboriginal workforce through the provision of individual and community based employment and training initiatives.
Background:
AETS was established in May 1997 to deliver HRDC – related programs and services to the on- and off-reserve members of 8 participating Aboriginal communities. AETS currently operates in conjunction with an Aboriginal Human Resources Development Agreement between the Union of Ontario Indians and the Federal Government.
The staff of AETS works closely with each of the First Nation communities. These community partnerships allow greater control over Aboriginal human resource development, enabling out First Nations to build the capacity and skills which will bring solutions closer to those affected by employment issues.
